97% percent off??

Wow, that's quite the, um, bargain.

Helpful Hint of the Day

If the upper arm in your dishwasher isn't spinning, perhaps the food grinder is clogged and decreasing the water pressure. Upon inspection, you might find glassware shards, oyster shell fragments, a corn cob holder, a plastic snap ring, bat confetti, two plastic parts of indeterminate origin and countless lemon seeds. And sixteen years' worth of mold.

long time, no post.

I cannot recommend this enough.

I am no longer a Clermont virgin.

Yes, I finally made it to the Clermont Lounge! You don't just go to the Clermont, you end up there, predictably, after much alcohol. You then consume more alcohol to absolve yourself of the fact that you willfully subjected your eyes to a a dancer that is old enough to be your mother. Or maybe even your grandmother. Or...okay, I'll stop there. Unfortunately, beer-can crushing Blondie was not performing last night. Dang.

In that same conversation I learned about the Clermont, nearly a year-and-a-half ago, I learned about this band as well.

This is quite possibly the most LAME quizzy thing I've ever taken. I stole it from [info]alayna:

HASH(0x8cdf478)

which mac eyeshadow are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

1. Brown is the most difficult color for me to wear, given my coloring. Hi, bright, rich colors, please.
2. [info]professorbooty, don't even. I was there well ahead of you.
3. They don't even use actual MAC color names. 'fraid of being sued? Pussies.

My decision to move to Atlanta has been validated once again, but not by my semi car-free existence, my staggering-distance bars or even by the buff men jogging up Piedmont, but rather by the closure of the NoVA office Chris was working in (layoffs inclusive).

On the bright side, I have a ristra of massive proportions.

Most expensive cardboard box EVER.

Vive la Stelvin!

I opened my first utterly-nasty, but probably just spoilt bottle of wine since the history of my wine journaling (Yes, I have one. I thought they were silly, too, but it turned out to be one of the most useful Christmas gifts I've ever received). Did I mention it came from Costco, whom I am hating now, anyway? In case you're not up-to-date on the current hate rankings:

1. AirTran
2. Adobe
3. Costco
4. Visiting In-laws
5. West Elm

So...for the 9th Annual Tree-Trimming Extravaganza, I've decided to include one of these for the lackadaisical individuals who won't put an ornament on the tree. Can I trust a drunken group with a whole pound of candy, massive amounts of gingerbread, and a bag of royal icing? Is it too late to order custom slipcovers? Plastic ones, even?

fishie, fishie, fishie, fish!

We have whale sharks!

For some silly reason...

...we're watching bull riding.

The first time I encountered this was Superbowl Sunday two years ago at Judy's in the not-watching-football room.

There is a bull called "Just Push Play." Clearly, this bull has not met his match.

:D

Oy. And also, vey.

I did not know about this!

And this is just the apartment-sized model!

whoa.

Went to the Dekalb Farmer's Market on Sunday, which is kind of a misleading name, being that it is just one vendor and not a variety of farmers. 140,000 square feet of food makes it the largest indoor farmer's market in the US. There are huge counters of fresh seafood, meats and cheeses, aisles and aisles of gourmet foods, and every vegetable and fruit in existence (fresh black currants!!). All that plus a bakery, restaurant, coffee roaster, liquor store, florist and so much else, I can't remember because it was truly overwhelming. The market also supplies restaurants in the area and its employees are from all over the globe (their languages are listed on their name tags).

They also have a cool little recycling operation in the parking lot where you can bring all sorts of stuff.

I'm going back soon, but this time, with a list.

If I can't bid on it, at the very least I can hunt it down.

And 106 boxes later...

For roughly ten days, we'll be homeless.

Now would be the best time ever to commit a misdemeanor. I may never again have the chance to be listed in the police blotter at "no fixed address."

Still can't wait until this weekend, when we go to Port Tobacco and be LIVING IN A VAN (sort of) DOWN BY THE RIVER!
